Insect bites and stings are common and Ayurvedic plants can help in the cure. The affected area results in redness, itching, and swelling. Some people have very sensitive skin that overreacts with insect bites. It should be treated then and there to avoid serious allergic reaction that can be life threatening.

Some insect bites can cause inflammation and deep wound if left untreated. Bites and stings from insects such as fire ant, wasp, and bee can be very painful. Usually stings are more painful than bites. Though mosquito bites just cause itching, they can spread certain dangerous diseases like malaria and dengue.

Some people experience a severe reaction on the insect bitten or stung area. Serious symptoms are fever, wheezing, shortness of breath, fatigue, losing consciousness, and sometimes, death. Therefore, if you experience the first sign of such serious symptoms caused by insect bites and stings, you should go to the nearest doctor available to get immediate medications.

There are some Ayurvedic plants to take care of insect bites and stings at your home. First of all, you should clean the affected area with soap and water well. Then you can use some of the Ayurvedic plants to reduce the allergic reaction, swelling and pain.

Aloe Vera: This plant is widely used in Ayurveda for skin problems. It has anti-inflammation, antiseptic, and antibacterial properties that help in healing the wound very effectively. It works against the allergic reaction caused by insect bites and stings.

Marigold: It has anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial, and anti-viral properties. It is traditionally used for treating insect bite and stings, cuts and wounds, and other skin irritations.

Witch hazel: It has astringent and anti-inflammatory properties that are effective for the treatment of insect bites and stings, itching, rashes, minor burns and other skin irritation problems. It also has antiseptic and anti-bacterial properties that prevent and cure infections effectively.

Tea tree oil: This oil has anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties that help in reducing the inflammation on the affected area of the skin. It heals the wound and also treats infections.

Lavender oil: This oil gives a soothing effect on the skin that is affected by insect bites. It has anti-inflammatory and antiseptic properties. Prepare tea using lavender flowers and wash the affected area with it to get relief from itching and rashes caused by flea and mosquito bites.

These Ayurvedic plants are for immediate relief from pain and skin irritations caused by insect bites and stings. With more serious symptoms, you should immediately consult an Ayurvedic practitioner.
