Ayurvedic Diet helps Reduce Health Problems

According to Ayurveda, the most important aspect any person should consider is to lead a healthy life and be on a balanced diet. Ayurveda heals every individual based on age, gender, body type, body strength, digestive system, and the level of toxins in the body so an Ayurvedic diet would be a most welcome consideration in this aspect.

Each person has different lifestyle. If you want to lead an Ayurvedic lifestyle, then you should follow is principles that are applicable universally and that could include an Ayurvedic diet plan. In Ayurveda, foods contain six tastes such as salty, sweet, sour, bitter, pungent, and astringent. These six tastes should be included in each meal. Each taste has the capability to balance the diet and the digestive system. You will get all the six flavors from the given category of fresh fruits, vegetables, and herbs.

Sweet – fresh fruits, beetroots, and carrots

Sour – amla, lemons, plum, and raw mango

Bitter – bitter gourd, neem, and fenugreek

Pungent – radish, green onion, clove, and ginger

Astringent – broccoli and cabbage

Ayurveda focuses on the complete well-being of a person and so does an Ayurvedic diet plan. It heals many health ailments, be it common cold or cancer. It is very important to maintain a proper diet, which is a vital part of Ayurvedic treatment. Different ailments are treated with a different Ayurvedic diet plan.

Ayurveda believes that an individual who follows proper diet will have less health problems compared to others with poor lifestyle and eating habits. Adults should take food that has low calories to maintain proper health and to prevent obesity. Obesity can cause a lot of health problems such as high blood pressure, diabetes, high cholesterol, cardiovascular diseases, and stroke. Proper diet can prevent these health problems from attacking you and an Ayurvedic diet can be a big help in such prevention.

However, in case of children, their body requires more calories due to high activities in them. Fat and cholesterol should not be restricted for children. They should be given whole grains and cereals that have more calories. But, they should avoid preserved food and sweet that are high in fat.

Protein is very important for children as well as adults. However, children should have increased amount of protein for muscle development. They should be given eggs, milk, and meat that have more proteins.

Deficiency of calcium weakens the bones and teeth, and deficiency in iron can lead to anemia. Foods rich in vitamins, iron, and minerals must be given to the body adequately. Make sure that you eat at equal intervals of time. You should stop eating when you think that your stomach has a little more space to fill. Also include fibrous food in your diet to help your digestive system work perfectly.
