Why do we Meditate?

Meditation teaches us to silence our mind and sit in the self. As we start understanding the silence, we start understanding the self, which shows us ways to come out of the shadows and bask in light, and face the challenges of life in a more grounded and bold manner.
In the present day world, the ‘Kali Yuga’, we are losing our access to our cognitive memory because of superficial countenances and endless distractions. This is the time when we really need to strum the strings of Ahamkara to remember the life’s and health’s secrets.
How can we do this?
Firstly, we need to wipe out from our memory the unwanted, invalid information which are unnecessarily stored, and which are making us lose touch with our inner self. And how to wipe them out? The answer to this is ‘meditation’ and only meditation.
Secondly, we must stop listening to what others say, or not pay attention to hearsays and stop ourselves from jumping to all the wrong conclusions. It is the unwanted information in our memory that makes us react in such a way. We must remain calm no matter how much we are provoked. I know it is difficult, or I am asking for the impossible, but it can be achieved if you practice meditation on a daily basis. It helps us to dissolve the invalid and the unnecessary information, and to maintain an honest and healthy cognition.
What will be the result?
We start to stay more alert, and start storing valid and necessary information in our memory by ruling out the invalid and the unnecessary. If we exercise refrain from rash decisions, hasty conclusions and condemnation, then the truth will be revealed.
Hence, to maintain a good health and stay calm on the face of all the negatives, we must store the necessary, and the earlier we start the process, the better it will be for us in the long run.
